The newly built green heating plant in Kaposvár brings significant savings to the city
The bioheat plant built by Szabadics Zrt. will be inaugurated in Kaposvár on 4 October. The project, a joint project of NFP Nemzeti Fejlesztési Programiroda Nonprofit Kft. and the local municipality, represents an investment of HUF 4.5 billion.
The significance of this development lies in the fact that it will enable heat and hot water to be produced in the city at a much lower cost. which will result in annual savings of more than 640 million forints. Thanks to the wood chip-based heating plant, which runs on renewable energy, the city saves 12,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide.
The project includes a 1,700 square metre facility, which houses a woodchip-fired, two-burning boiler plant with a capacity of 2×7.5 megawatts. The Municipal Green Heating Plant will be built on the section of road 67 outside the residential area, next to the Volán depot.
