The iconic concrete grandstand will remain, while everything else will be renovated at the Fehérvár ice rink.

The structural and technical condition of the ice rink on Raktár Street has deteriorated significantly over the past decades and no longer meets current requirements. The aim of the development project now underway is to create a modern, sustainably operable facility that can serve the needs of modern ice sports while preserving the existing architectural character. During the design process, it was a priority to ensure that the capacity of the rink would not be significantly reduced. The details of the investment were presented by András Cser-Palkovics, Mayor of Székesfehérvár, and Tamás Vargha, State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence.

The existing wooden structure will be replaced by a modern steel structure.

The project will begin with the preparation of the interior spaces: the first step will be to dismantle the low-voltage systems, followed by the demolition of the VIP boxes and grandstand sections, as well as the grandstands behind the gates. This will be followed by the reconstruction of the roof structure, during which the existing wooden structure will be replaced with a modern steel structure. The structural work will be complemented by new, modern thermal insulation, which will significantly improve the building's energy performance.

As part of the investment, the ice rink's mechanical systems will be completely renovated, including ventilation, service systems and sanitary facilities. The aim of the developments is to achieve energy-efficient operation and reduce operating costs. The stands will also be modernised, while one of the hall's defining features, the iconic concrete stands, will remain, ensuring the continuity of the facility's character.
