Protective fences are being replaced along the M0 motorway

The project involves replacing more than 20 kilometres of protective fencing and constructing new sections along the expressway network.

The results of the procedure for replacing the protective fence along the M0 motorway, as published in the EU Public Procurement Bulletin , have been announced. The work, worth HUF 400 million, will be carried out by Kárpátok Építőipari Kft..

The contract was signed on 4 December 2025, and the procedure was announced by Magyar Közút NZrt. The protective fence will be replaced on the M0 motorway and the connecting M5, M51 and M2 expressway sections.

Based on operational experience, Magyar Közút reviewed the existing protective fences on the M0 motorway and the related M5, M51 and M2 expressway sections and their junctions under its management. According to the results of the investigations, it is justified to replace the existing fences section by section, and in some places it will be necessary to install new protective fences.

The work involves replacing 16,612 metres of protective fencing, installing 3,516 metres of new protective fencing, and constructing four pedestrian gates and one freight gate. The daily construction length is 500 metres.

The task includes the procurement of materials necessary for the implementation, the demolition of existing protective fences, their removal, as well as the professional installation of new protective fences and the tidying up of their surroundings.
