Build the present, shape the future: this year's International Green Building Week is open to the public in 15 locations

This year, the International Green Building Week will be held in 15 locations in Hungary between 11 and 15 September, according to Magyar Környezettudatos Építés Egyesület (HuGBC), the organiser of the event.

We have already reported on this multi-day event series, which has been held every year since 2009, in our newspaper: last year's opening and first programme was hosted by the headquarters named Market Építő Zrt. Market 6.0, where those interested could gain first-hand experience of the company's principles of sustainability, and, as part of the Green Walk green building tour, they could also take a guided tour of the construction company's office building, which is equipped with numerous innovative solutions.

As highlighted in the information, the HuGBC's aim with these programmes is,

to promote the innovative thinking of the actors of the building economy and the real estate sector, and the decarbonisation of the built environment in Hungary, through practical examples, professional discussions and practical workshops.

They stressed that concrete, effective action must be taken now to meet the sustainability targets and the carbon-free transformation of the construction sector, which is why "Build the present, shape the future!" is the slogan of this year's International Green Building Week. Now is the time to put the right building blocks in place to build a workable and sustainable future.

Green Walk will be among the programmes this year

The free, professionally guided walks showcase numerous examples of environmentally conscious construction. Among the buildings to choose from this year is Mol Campus in Budapest, the first Hungarian building to achieve the highest level in both the British BREEAM and American LEED systems. dual sustainability rating in both the British BREEAM and American LEED systems.

In addition, two award-winning buildings in the City Park will be open to visitors: the Ethnographic Museum and the House of Hungarian Music, the Naturica Group showroom in Gyula, and the TILIA Office Building in Szeged.

Since 2009, Magyar Környezettudatos Építés Egyesülete has brought together stakeholders from the real estate sector, the construction industry and the construction industry to contribute to the professional development of architectural regulations that promote environmentally responsible and sustainable construction. HuGBC is a full member of the international World Green Building Council.
