Energy efficient Lindab air handling solutions supported the construction of the MOL Campus

The ventilation design plans for MOL Campus praise the work of Körös Consult Kft. (Designer: Tibor Gáspár), which were largely completed with the design of Lindab products, according to the company's website.

The majority of the ductwork in the high rise building was implemented with Lindab Safe circular ductwork elements. The Eurovent certified products are available in sizes ranging from smaller diameters to larger sizes suitable for industrial and office building applications, and have an D air tightness class.

Moreover, the Lindab Safe is a well-documented system, with technical specifications measured in our own laboratory. In the case of the MOL Campus project, several sizes have been installed in the ductwork up to 500 mm diameter. As they are easy and quick to install, they effectively supported the contractors in their work.

During the construction of the office building, a large part of the rectangular ductwork was also implemented using the high quality Lindab rectangular ductwork. Quality and reliability were important considerations for the heat and smoke extraction solution, so the Lindab Fire Protect system was used for the majority of the system installation. The Lindab rectangular elements are available in a range of rating size categories, and for the MOL Campus project a range of sizes was also used, with larger ducts (3000*1700 mm cross-section) also being used.

In addition, the more traditional butterfly valve was replaced by an iris regulator, a more modern solution with a higher technical content. It offers the advantage of more accurate control and measurement, and a more uniform flow.

The Lindab air duct is available in complete systems, with a wide range of accessories to help professionals. In addition, they are manufactured from quality Swedish steel base material in Z275 coated galvanized steel with C3 corrosion protection class, giving them excellent durability.

Focus on sustainability

The MOL Campus meets the most stringent sustainability requirements. The building is unique in Hungary in that, following the BREEAM Excellent, it has also obtained LEED Platinum certification, which is the highest level of recognition available in the field of building sustainability certification. Therefore, it was extremely important to keep the highest level of sustainability in mind during both the design and construction phases.

This is fully in line with Lindab's strategy and ambition to support the design and implementation of more sustainable buildings. Because of the certifications, the documentation was an important element of the project, in terms of performance statements, certification statements and other standards, in which Lindab's experts provided a great deal of support to the design and construction disciplines.

Furthermore, with a project of this size, timing is of the utmost importance, so reliable and accurate delivery partners were needed to ensure that the project did not slip.
