The Reformed jewel of Cluj-Napoca renewed 

In Cluj Napoca, the Herepei House, the parish church next to the Reformed Church on Farkas Street, has been renovated. The reconstruction was supported by the Hungarian government. It completed the reconstruction of almost one square kilometre of the Reformed Church, the "holiest square" of the church.

"The church, the two schools, the kindergarten and this house perfectly illustrate what is needed in the future to preserve the Hungarian community in Cluj" - said Béla Kató, Bishop of the Transylvanian Reformed Church District, referring to the nearby schools. He said that the church did not renovate the Herepei House for its own sake, just to protect the monument, but to give it to the youth.

Emese Oláh, Deputy Mayor of Cluj, called the house another treasure of Cluj, which proves that it is worth being Hungarian in the city.

The history of the building and the renovation was presented by Attila Weisz, an art historian, who said that the late Renaissance wall paintings found in the council chamber, the biblical quotations and exhortations in Latin make it a jewel of Cluj-Napoca and Transylvania. He thanked the church for not sparing time and money to restore it. A time capsule was also placed at the ceremony, and after the ribbon-cutting, Bishop Béla Kató blessed the church property, which had been renewed over the past two years.
