The final wing of the Veresegyház Reformed Primary School may be built
The Calvin Square Reformed Primary School was built in 2011 in the city centre, next to the Reformed church. Designed by János Jánosi and László Zsigmond, it is a classically proportioned school building with a strongly centralised layout and an entrance wedged between two towers. The recessed decoration between the windows and doors divides the brick cladding into sections reminiscent of pilasters, while the strong cornices reinforce the historical feel.
The four-storey school, located on a hilltop, soon proved to be too small: a new wing was added in 2022, and now it is facing another expansion. conditional public procurement was announced by the maintaining Veresegyházi Reformed Church Parish, which would increase the school's area by an additional 1,400 m² of usable floor space, providing eight rooms for long-term use to accommodate classes.
The tender was won by EB HUNGARY INVEST Kft.. The company's employees will have 180 days and approximately £387 million to create a new multi-storey wing with a floor area of 695.23 m².
For now, the task is to build the structure.
The public procurement notice emphasises that they are currently looking for a contractor to complete the structural construction of the building, which includes the construction of the foundation and main walls, the roof structure with full roofing, the installation of external doors and windows, and the installation of underground utilities. Another task to be performed is to prepare an assessment of the condition of the old parts of the building.
A four-storey building with brick walls, reinforced concrete frame and brick main walls would be constructed, which would be separated from the previously completed buildings by a double wall structure, while directly connecting to the existing wing and the gymnasium.
