What is being built?
The first phase of the giant investment project in Nyíregyháza has been completed
One of the most significant domestic infrastructure developments in recent years took a step forward on 13 January: the first phase of the Nyíregyháza Industrial Park was handed over.
As previously indicated, the first phase was carried out by the consortium of Mészáros és Mészáros Zrt. and „KE-VÍZ 21” zRt., as well as NYÍR-WETLAND Kft..
During the expansion that began in 2023, a large-scale infrastructure development project was launched in the industrial park, adding 640 hectares to the previous 130 hectares. The first phase of the investment series was implemented with a budget of 38 billion forints, laying the foundation for further developments.
Among other things, the following were completed in the first phase
- 14 kilometres of new road,
- Debreceni Road has been resurfaced with a new layer of asphalt;
- 10 kilometres of cycle paths were also built,
- 10.5 kilometres of water pipes with a pressure booster station on Tünde Street,
- an 11.4-kilometre sewage system with a pumping station.
At Tuesday's handover ceremony, it was revealed that work on the second phase will begin as soon as the weather improves. A significant portion of the new industrial park in Nyíregyháza is already full; the government has allocated a total of 220 billion forints in funding for the next phase.
