Work is underway on bridges and crossings as part of the M1 motorway expansion. The MKIF gallery presented details of the work.

The M1 motorway has been reported on with a new gallery and post expansion MKIF Magyar Koncessziós Infrastruktúra Fejlesztő Zrt. has reported on the work of this giant project. During the expansion of the 78-kilometre section between M0-Concó, 72 bridges and overpasses will have to be rebuilt or completely rebuilt, as the widened motorway would not fit under or over them – they write.

Please note that there are also bridges that may not be visible to road users due to their location: the demolition work required to rebuild and widen these bridges is continuing despite the weather conditions.

During the extension of the M1, the section between the M0 and Bicske will be completed by the end of August 2028, and the section up to the Concó rest area in the Bábolna region will be completed by the end of August 2029, after which the development will continue. The 78 km of motorway 1 will be widened to 2×3 lanes, plus one intelligent stop lane per side to be used as a full lane. This will allow up to 2×4 lanes between Budapest and Győr.
