Renovation of the social-religious building of the University of Dunaújváros

In the summer of 2022, we reported that a public procurement tender had been announced for the modernisation of Building F at the University of Dunaújváros. According to the latest information from the EU public procurement gazette, the work, worth nearly HUF 4.7 billion, will be carried out by ZÁÉV Zrt..

According to the procurement notice, the main building of the University of Dunaújváros is the only original "social-real" building among the buildings of the University of Dunaújváros, with a useful floor area of 6400 square metres, divided into a basement, ground floor, two floors and a built-in attic. As a local architectural asset, its main structure should be preserved, if possible.

All rooms in the building will have new flooring and suspended ceilings. The mechanical and electrical systems will be completely rebuilt. The bathrooms on all levels will be completely rebuilt (partitions, tiling, sanitary). The concrete subfloor will also be demolished in the area affected by underfloor heating. The entire basement area will be retrofitted with soil moisture insulation, floor and sidewall to ceiling, combined with drilled-in grouted wall insulation in all circles.

The façade elements will be reconstructed, the roof structure will be completely demolished and rebuilt in its original shape and size, with a modern layered design and a tiled roof. The façade masonry will be covered with a 15 cm thick mineral wool insulation layer with a modern system of thin cavity insulation. The attic will be completely removed, restoring the original roof plane.

The project also includes the installation of the building's low-voltage network, security and CCTV systems with a separate server room, as well as landscaping and landscaping works.
