Work on the M1 motorway extension continues with night-time concrete pouring – Another key phase of the Torbágyi út bridge project has been completed
As part of the project to expand the M1 motorway, the concrete work on the deck structure of the bridge under construction on Torbágyi út was carried out from Tuesday to Wednesday, and then on the night from Wednesday to Thursday, the concrete work for the deck structure of the bridge under construction on Torbágyi út was completed – all of which was reported by MKIF Zrt. on its Facebook page.
To construct the two bridge decks, each measuring 175 square metres, the contractors used a total of nearly 320 cubic metres of concrete – equivalent to the full load of around 40 concrete mixers.
During the construction process, all concrete delivered to the site is subjected to laboratory testing. Among other things, the specialists check the spread of the concrete, and only material of the required quality is fed into the concrete pump and then into the structure.
When the concrete is being poured, checks are carried out to ensure that the fresh concrete is of the correct consistency and can be worked into place effectively. This ensures that the concrete fills the structure evenly and that the bridge can be completed with the designed strength.
According to the plans, on 3 August, motorists will once again be able to use Torbágyi Road. Traffic will then be allowed to resume on one carriageway, controlled by traffic lights.
