Bound track
Final touches: testing underway on the Hungarian section of the Budapest–Belgrade railway line
On the Hungarian section of the Budapest–Belgrade railway line: the switches, buildings, platforms and overhead lines are already in place, and we are now at the stage of conducting power-off operational trials – as reported by Facebook page Zsolt Hegyi, MÁV Group CEO.
He then explained:
This means that even without passengers, but with vehicles, they are testing the track by simulating real traffic situations and checking that everything has been implemented according to plan.
At the control centre built in Kiskunhalas, three specialists manage train traffic from Budapest to the Kelebia border 24 hours a day. From here, they manage and control the switches and signals, monitor the status of the barriers, view camera images of what is happening at the stations, and operate the central passenger information system, explained the head of the state railway company.
