The hospital in Dombóvár is facing significant healthcare improvements
The call for tenders for Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium can be found at TED for the second phase of the development of specialist outpatient care at the Dombóvár Szent Lukács Hospital. The conditionally initiated public procurement procedure also includes design and construction tasks.
The aim of the investment is to enable the clinic to receive patients in a modern environment that complies with current health, technical and professional requirements, without the need for new construction, within the existing framework of the building.
The government decided on the completion of the development in Government Resolution 1193/2025. (VI. 5.), which approved the completion of the outpatient specialist care investment previously started at the Szent Lukács Hospital in Dombóvár in two phases.
- Phase I: completion of the previously unfinished investment (this is no longer part of the present project),
- Phase II: complete renovation of the clinic, which can now begin.
The first phase began several years ago, but construction was halted, leaving parts of the building as architectural ruins. According to the article teol.hu, 266 million forints are already available for the implementation of the first phase, and the amount will be used to restart the project and complete the outstanding work.
Comprehensive renovation
The second phase may affect a total net area of almost 1,800 square metres of the clinic. The renovation involves complete refurbishment – architectural, mechanical and electrical. The works will cover
- the two-storey main building,
- to the ground floor north-west wing,
- to the east wing,
- as well as part of the western wing belonging to phase I and the final construction of wet blocks 137–140.
The investment does not require a building permit, as no new buildings will be constructed.
The works will commence with significant demolition:
- removing over 1,400 cubic metres of construction debris,
- demolition of partition walls, coverings, floor coverings, doors and windows,
- by removing floor fillings and prefabricated concrete elements.
Subsequently, new structures and surfaces are created:
- floating floor, new sockets,
- plasterboard ceilings and partition walls,
- cold and warm coverings, PVC and synthetic resin floors,
- Over 6,500 square metres of dispersion painting.
The exterior appearance is also being revamped:
- Facade insulation is being installed on nearly 1,100 square metres.,
- solve the problem of insulation against soil moisture,
- New paving is being laid in the outdoor areas.
New windows and doors, modern structures
As part of the project, 245 new doors, windows and curtain walls will be installed. In addition:
- new reinforced concrete foundation and structural elements,
- steel structures,
- Opening bridges are also manufactured where internal modifications warrant it.
Modern engineering, cooling-heating and electrical network
A significant part of the renovation involves the complete replacement of the building services systems:
- nearly 1,000 metres of new pipeline will be built,
- 56 new panel radiators will be installed,
- outdoor air handling units, heat recovery ventilators,
- A liquid cooling system and 59 air conditioning convectors ensure a comfortable indoor environment, as well as
- Rainwater drainage will also be renewed.
The electrical network is being almost entirely rebuilt:
- thousands of metres of new high- and low-voltage cabling,
- nearly 440 new light fixtures,
- A structured data transfer network and optical smoke detectors ensure safe and modern operation.
