The Váci SzC Madách Imre Technical College and Vocational School in Gödöllő will be renovated at a cost of two billion forints, announced the Minister for Culture and Innovation on Monday at a press conference following the "Ask the Minister!" forum held at the institution.

 

Every fifth student from vocational training was admitted to university

Balázs Hankó announced that 600 million forints will be available from the budget this year, and during the investment

New training workshops will be set up and new equipment purchased in the fields of engineering, the automotive industry, beauty therapy and tourism and hospitality.

Almost 1,500 students attend the school in Gödöllő, half of whom are enrolled in adult education programmes, which shows that vocational training is popular among young people, the minister pointed out. In recent years, the number of students entering higher education from vocational training has increased by 65 per cent, and during last year's admissions process, one in five students gained admission to university from vocational training, said Balázs Hankó.

 

A new vocational training model programme is launched

According to the minister, Hungarian vocational training is based on three pillars: talented students who receive scholarships and participate in dual training, teachers, and renewable infrastructure.

According to Balázs Hankó's report, discussions with young people also confirmed that dual training needs to be strengthened in all areas.,

To this end, a vocational training model programme will be launched in the Gödöllő district, in which the curriculum will be developed in collaboration with local businesses and training workshops will be set up.
