As part of the project, social housing will be built, and the village community centre will also be significantly expanded and modernised.

The local council of Nagyecsed in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County is carrying out a project that aims to improve housing conditions and develop community services at the same time. The winner of the public procurement procedure was Lőkös és Társai Építőipari és Szolgáltató Kft.. The project is being implemented under the Regional and Local Development Operational Programme Plus.

As part of the project, three social housing flats are being created on the local authority-owned property at 17 Kölcsey Street, whilst the community centre on Síp Street is undergoing refurbishment and extension.

They provide modern accommodation for eight people

As part of the development on Kölcsey Street, a building with a net floor area of 180 square metres is being converted into three separate flats. The property will be able to accommodate a total of eight people.

The aim of the programme is to provide independent housing for young families living in a multi-generational household in the western segregated area of the town.

As part of the works, a section of the building measuring approximately 40 square metres will be demolished, the roof structure will be refurbished, and the entire building will undergo energy efficiency upgrades. The windows and doors will be replaced, the electrical system will be refurbished, three new bathroom blocks will be built, and the flats will be fitted with modern condensing gas boilers. The project also includes landscaping, the construction of a new fence and the laying of more than 42 square metres of paving.

The Csillagpont building is being extended

Another element of the development is the refurbishment and extension of the community centre on Síp Street, formerly known as Csillagpont.

As part of the project, the existing building will be refurbished, and two new building sections will also be constructed. One of these will house a new sanitary block, whilst the other will be a functional unit organised around a covered atrium with a perforated roof structure. The new spaces will also house a staff room, a communal kitchen, a serving kitchen, an office, corridors and additional toilet blocks.

A community centre covering more than 400 square metres is to be built

As a result of the modernisation, the building’s net floor area will increase to 419 square metres, of which the new extension accounts for almost 217 square metres.

During the works, the existing windows and doors will be replaced, retrofit insulation will be installed on the façade and in the floor slabs, the roof structure will be reinforced, and new roofing will be fitted. As part of the project, comprehensive accessibility improvements will be carried out.

A total of 13 parking spaces will be created, two of which will be accessible, and one of which will also be suitable for charging electric vehicles. In addition, new paving and fencing will be installed.

As part of the community centre’s refurbishment, the CCTV system is also being upgraded. According to the plans, the existing system will be expanded through the installation of state-of-the-art video surveillance equipment and new IP cameras.
