Market supports the programmes of the Utcáról Lakásba! Association with building materials
Genuine value-based engagement is the latest initiative of Market Építő Zrt. to promote social equality. Market Építő Zrt. has entered into a long-term partnership with the Utcáról Lakásba! Association, and as part of this partnership, they are supporting home renovation and home creation programmes for homeless people by donating building materials.
"We try to donate building materials from all our sites that are surplus to our needs but can still be used. This way, they don't end up as waste, but become part of real homes and help give people in need a new chance at a better life. This is actually a practical and small effort on the part of Market, but it is of huge value to users, as it can make a huge difference to the lives of our fellow human beings who are moving from the streets to their homes, by ending their homelessness," they wrote in response to our question.
Every home is a new opportunity
For over a decade, Utcáról Lakásba! Association has been working to create affordable, sustainable and safe homes for people experiencing homelessness or housing poverty. Their work is not just about handing over housing, as their aim is to provide long-term sustainable housing to help people reintegrate into society. To this end, they support their clients with intensive social work before, during and after the move.
As part of their flagship "From Shack to Home!" programme, they are renovating unused council rented housing to enable people experiencing homelessness to rent on a social basis. They also run the "Housing Now! Housing Agency", which brings privately owned empty flats into the social rental housing system, thus expanding the range of affordable housing options. As summarised in Market Építő Zrt.:
"The work of the Association has a major social impact. They provide systemic, sustainable solutions while changing people's lives."
Sustainability that impacts human lives
"The dedication, professionalism and people-centred approach of our staff come together in this initiative. We are proud that our work can lead not only to buildings, but also to opportunities."
- highlighted. And in doing so, they want not only to support but also to set an example. As they stressed in relation to their motivation:
"We can be proud that our work is not only building but also contributing to a more equal society, and we encourage construction companies to support similar housing NGOs like Utcáról Lakásba! Association.
