The Dürer Park, developed by Property Market and built by Market Építő Zrt., will be enriched by a special concrete sculpture in dialogue with the City Park.

From now on, the green space between the office buildings of Dürer Park will be enriched by a unique concrete sculpture called „Dialogue”. The 3.2-metre-high, 10-tonne artwork not only highlights the unique character of the place, but also refers back to the history of the City Park and is a good example of the work of Market Építő Zrt."s subsidiary, rel="noopener">Market Építő Zrt. subsidiary, PREbeton Zrt.. As stated in a post on the Market community page states:

"The shape of the sculpture was inspired by the letter "D" in the Dürer logo, while the "face" motif represents people-centred thinking and attention to community. Everything from design to execution was carried out by a team from our subsidiary, with the help of around 20 people, in just two months."

A centuries-old tradition

Although statues scattered here and there are a fundamental element of any park with a long history, the City Park, the world's first public park, was long deprived of works of art. As mentioned in the PestBuda article, this also caught the eye of Franz Joseph. According to one anecdote, when he showed the German Emperor Wilhelm II Budapest, which was developing into a world city, he remarked on how few sculptures there were in such a magnificent city. Franz Joseph agreed that this was a valid point and took up the cause of public art, whereupon sculptures began to spring up like mushrooms in the Liget. The first of these was the statue of the Hungarian national hero, Ferenc Rákóczi II, which was erected in 1867.

It shows the values of the community

Tamás Kasik, architect and product development engineer of the PREBeton and Ádám Dubovinszky, chief structural designer of the PREBeton, are the authors of the work, which is valuable not only for its symbol system but also for its concrete technology solutions. The creation of the "Dialogue" has given the reinforced concrete precasting company's staff the opportunity to develop their skills in a new field. As they write:

"Throughout this process, innovation, creative joy and engineering precision have come together in perfect harmony. And the message of the sculpture is clear: creativity and community values go hand in hand."
