Two Budapest hotels in the world elite

The ibis & TRIBE Budapest Stadium Hotel – a hotel development combining two brands, WING Zrt. – embodies both design-focused hospitality and sustainable operation: the BREEAM In-Use „Outstanding” rating is the highest level that an existing building can achieve – a rarity even on a global scale.

WING has also opened two TRIBE hotels in the last two years: the 332-room, three- and four-star ibis & TRIBE Budapest Stadium Hotel at Népliget and the 167-room, four-star TRIBE Budapest Airport Hotel adjacent to the airport.

Uniquely sustainable

Thanks in part to the work of TRIBE Budapest Airport Hotel – Swietelsky Magyarország – has been awarded BREEAM New Construction certification for its outstanding performance in building sustainability, particularly in the areas of water and waste management and building operation. The hotel also received Access4you certification thanks to the fact that the building's design ensures accessibility for several groups, such as wheelchair and pram users, the elderly, the blind and those with assistance dogs.

The ibis & TRIBE Stadium Hotel has been rated BREEAM "Outstanding" for its outstanding sustainability performance.

The building scored an outstanding 86.3% based on the overall assessment.

The project has shown exceptional results in several areas: it has achieved maximum scores in the transport and resilience categories, and an outstanding score of 82% for health and well-being, which is exemplary in environmentally conscious and people-centred hotel design.

Conscious design played a major role in achieving the certificate: the building has a near-zero energy demand and was constructed using environmentally friendly, pollutant-free building materials. Conscious water use and optimised, environmentally friendly lighting further enhance sustainable operation, but the mechanical systems are also based on state-of-the-art technologies.

Heat recovery air handlers and silent air conditioning systems ensure energy-efficient operation. The building is district-heated and waste management is also sustainable.

A strong entry into the Hungarian market

The WING is a relatively new player in the domestic hotel industry. It currently has a portfolio of three hotels: the Best Western Plus Lakeside Hotel in Székesfehérvár, the ibis & TRIBE Stadium in Budapest and the Budapest Airport Hotel of the same brand. However, its market share could soon increase further, as the Hotel Indigo Budapest Andrássy development is under preparation.
