Körber expands its operations in Hungary with a large-scale investment

Körber Hungária is beginning to further expand its production capacities in Pécs. The leading company in the global market for custom machine manufacturing is investing 14.5 billion forints in development, part of which will go towards establishing a new regional service centre.

The second largest site of the international Körber group is located in Pécs, where equipment and machinery are manufactured for five business divisions. The company previously operated primarily as a tobacco machinery factory, but today it offers a wide range of products and focuses mainly on the manufacture of medical equipment.

High value-added service centre to be established

Körber Hungária is implementing a comprehensive investment programme worth HUF 14.5 billion in Pécs, including the establishment of a high value-added service centre and the creation of 100 new jobs. The investment announcement event was attended by Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, who indicated that the government would support the development with HUF 2.3 billion.

Green energy and increased efficiency in production

In 2024, the company made significant investments: it installed a solar power plant covering more than 11,000 square metres on the roof of its production hall. In addition, it commissioned new metalworking machines and made its powder coating plant more environmentally friendly and efficient through a technology change.
