Masterpieces again this year: focus on roof tiles

Nowadays, eco-consciousness is becoming an increasingly important factor for both buyers and builders, and today's demands can only be met with modern building materials. The Generon is Terrán's own solution for green energy use, with each tile in the solar roof system functioning as a separate solar panel. In addition to providing a premium aesthetic experience, it also generates energy above our heads.

Competition for architects

For the long-established Terrán, it is of the utmost importance to provide an opportunity to showcase reference architecture to both the profession and the general public. Contemporary Hungarian architectural values that represent renewable energy solutions and quality roof designs deserve the greatest possible attention.

In the spirit of environmental awareness, Terrán has announced its architectural competition again this year, in the categories of plans and completed residential and public buildings.

As in previous years, this year architects can apply under two mottos: "Quality TERRAN roof system in the architectural vision" and "GENERON solar concrete tile, the energy of the future in the present".

This year, the organiser is once again expecting high-quality, environmentally conscious works that take into account the appearance of the settlement and illustrate the architectural and creative uses of the Generon solar roof system and other Terrán products. Forward-looking ideas, high-quality architectural and technical solutions based on the nature of the material, and energy-efficient building construction are also important criteria in the evaluation process.

The public competition is open to architects, architects and designers, with plans and buildings completed in the last five years, until 25 October 2023.

Remuneration of roofers

Terrán has not forgotten about roofers this year either, which is why it is announcing its competition, inviting entries from roofers and contractors. The undisguised aim of the competition is to enable both professionals and those interested in building to learn about buildings that have been designed with high standards and masterfully constructed using Terrán roof tiles.

You can apply for any new or renovated residential or public building with a Terrán roof tile, holiday home, holiday home, agricultural, industrial, commercial or religious building built in Hungary after 1 January 2020. Applications will be judged on the professionalism of the roofing work, the harmony between the building and the roof form, and the overall appearance of the roofing.

Naturally, the best entries will receive prizes, and Terrán Tetőcserép Gyártó Kft. will enter them into the ÉMSZ “Roof of the Year Award” competition at its own expense.

Applications can be submitted from 1 August 2023 until 31 October.

From the very beginning, Terrán has regarded professional collaboration as fundamental, supporting the work of architects and contractors across multiple platforms.

This is the purpose of the Terrán AddOn programme, as well as the EnviMap system, as well as professional competitions in which architects and roofers can measure their modern, environmentally conscious reference works and present them to interested parties.
