The wood required for Terrán KészTetőhöz is processed by CNC robot-operated carpentry machines, which can process up to 30 m3 of raw material in a single working day, meaning that, depending on the type, up to two complete roof structures can be completed each day.

Sizing is carried out with a 4-head automatic planer, which can also be used to remove small warps from uneven timber.

Preparing for perfectionism

Based on the survey data provided by the client or available design documentation, Terrán prepares the structural drawings, which include the roof plan, beam layouts, section drawings, beam schedules and 3D visual plans, all the information necessary for the implementation.

If discussions have already started with the contractor, it is recommended to involve the company's expert at the 3D CAD roof design stage to obtain full information and to get as much detail as possible.

When renovating roofs, the Terrán can also perform surveys from the roof using state-of-the-art LiDAR laser technology, thus guaranteeing the most accurate manufacturing and construction processes.

Thanks to computer-aided design, the amount of material can be determined to the nearest millimetre, which contributes to using up to 15% less wood than the conventional process, significantly reducing costs.

Protecting values

Wood protection is one of the keys to the long life of the KészTető. The impregnation is carried out in a programmable immersion bath, on pre-set cycles, with a chemical that meets the specifications and is certified by a certificate of conformity.

The advantage of this treatment is that the green-coloured insecticide and fungicide with enhanced active ingredients penetrates every hole, crack and tap, ensuring impeccable quality care for the structure and protecting the wood from mould like a shield.

Structures made with Terrán can also be treated with a treatment other than green or with a special protective treatment, where the wood is sprayed under high pressure and worked into the surface with a brush system. Using this method, up to 300 g/m2 of flame retardant can be injected into the wood, also supported by technical evidence.

By using fewer raw materials in the production process, the company is significantly reducing its environmental footprint and making roof construction greener. In addition, the wood chips generated during production are collected in a designated storage area and can be used in a variety of ways. The wood chips are dust-free and can therefore be used as both quality litter and briquettes.
