The Buda children's railway gets a new crossing and speeds up

One of the crossings on the Csillebérc children's railway is being rebuilt, according to a report by mavcsoport.hu. At the Konkoly-Thege Miklós út railway crossing near Csillebérc in District XII, the tracks and substructure will be replaced on the affected section of the line, and adequate drainage will be installed.

The crossing will have a rubber system, and the road sections leading to it will be resurfaced, allowing smoother passage for road vehicles. The current speed limit of 10 km/h for trains will also be lifted after the reconstruction.

The restrictions will run from 21 October to 2 November

Work started on 20 October with utility replacements and site preparation. For motorists, a temporary crossing will be built a few metres away on the tracks, which will also be used by the BKK bus service from 27 October to 3 November.

Restrictions on the Children's Railway from 21 October to 2 November. The trains will run daily during the works, but for several days they will only run on a shorter route between Hűvösvölgy and Csillebérc stations, and will not run to Normafa and Széchenyihegy stations.

The restriction will not affect the period 22-26 October (Wednesday to Sunday), when trains will run as usual on the full route. During the autumn break, in addition to the traditional trains, you can also expect to see nostalgic trains: the steam locomotive, the motor carriage from Lillafüred and the C50 small locomotive will be in service.
