The roof of one wing of the institution was renovated with Everest Steel corked sheets, which is leak-proof, aesthetic and blends in well with the downtown.

A new roof structure adorns one of the wings of the Jókai Mór Reformed Primary School, which graces the centre of Nyíregyháza. The new roof was needed because the old shingles were worn out and out of keeping with the townscape. The owner, the Nyíregyháza-City Reformed Parish, was keen to have a roof that would be in keeping with the townscape, so they were looking for a solution that would make this possible.

The Everest Steel brand of corroded panels was chosen to provide a modern roof for older buildings, while retaining the style of the previous style.

The click-system corrugated sheets were manufactured at the Nyíregyháza production plant of Orha Művek Zrt. manufacturing plant in Nyíregyháza, which also deals in steel structure manufacturing and steel raw material trading. The company also manufactured and delivered additional materials and accessories (roof edges, cornices, drip caps, snow guards, gutters, downpipes, valley gutters, ridge caps) for Épadker Kft., which carried out the roof renovation.

Popular roofing solution

As well as being aesthetically pleasing, weather-resistant, corked sheet is a popular building material. Its waterproofing and load-bearing capacity are excellent, requiring minimal maintenance. Its special feature is that its surface is scratched using a special technique, which increases its resistance to wear.

As László Kósa, Orha Művek sales representative told us, "In addition to the Orha Művek branded cored plates, we offer a number of additional elements that are essential for the installation. These can be manufactured from a drawing selected from our standard catalogue, but we can also accommodate custom orders."

He added that the range of "click" corroded plates has a very wide range of applications. They can be made of steel or aluminium. They are easy to install, making them quicker and easier to fit, yet durable and strong.

Delivered the required quantity in two weeks

The roof structure of the school in Nyíregyháza is made of steel, with corroded sheets in an aesthetic and timeless anthracite grey colour. The elements were manufactured in the lengths specified by the customer, with a 500 mm overlap width. The edging elements were then produced on CNC edge bending machines, also in anthracite grey, after precise sizing. A total of around 3,500 linear metres of material were used for the roof.

"The elements needed for the roofing of the Reformed school were produced very quickly: the steel elements were delivered in two weeks, in stages. We respected the time intervals given by the contractor: as the work progressed, we delivered the necessary materials to the site. In August, the roofing was completed" - said László Kósa.

The rapid implementation was facilitated by regular, even daily, effective consultations with the contractor. The salesman also said that professional advice was provided as an additional service.
