A new primary school is being built in Gyömrő on the site of the existing school

According to the published results announcement states that BUILD IT Mérnökiroda Zrt. has been awarded the contract for the design and construction of the reconstruction of the Fekete István Primary School in Gyömrő with a net bid of 7.65 billion forints.

The public procurement procedure was launched by Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium whilst the previous government was still in office, and the project is being carried out as part of the development programme for public education institutions in Pest County, which forms part of the Budapest Agglomeration.

As part of the project, following the demolition of the existing buildings, a state-of-the-art educational institution will be built in Gyömrő, on Kossuth Ferenc Street. The successful contractor will be responsible not only for the construction work, but also for preparing the necessary planning permission applications and construction drawings, as well as providing full design support right up to the point of handover.

Main elements of the investment

According to the published data, the new institution:

• 6,479 square metres of net floor area is implemented;
• with 24 classrooms and with 9 specialist classrooms is being prepared;
• 4 group rooms are being established;
• in total 37 classrooms will include;
• two gyms is being built, one of which can be divided into three parts;
• The project also includes the development of the associated service areas, utilities and landscaping.

According to the public procurement documents, the project must be completed within 760 days of the contract coming into force. During the course of the project, the contractor must construct a building that complies with the energy performance requirements for nearly zero-energy buildings.

The project therefore not only marks the creation of a new school, but can also contribute to the town’s long-term development and the daily life of the local community.
