Gerulus can carry out the three road tasks.

The refurbishment of Tihanyi Street, the resurfacing of the pavement in front of Kazinczy Ferenc Általános Iskola and traffic calming measures on Daru Road are all included in the public procurement tender, for which Gerulus Kft was awarded the contract in Csepel.

The works form part of the district’s 2025 framework agreement for civil engineering works. The three contracts are linked to Csepeli Városfejlesztési és Gazdaságfejlesztési Nonprofit Kft. and the local authority of Budapest’s 21st district. The combined value of the three contracts is approximately 192.8 million forints.

The refurbishment of Tihanyi Street is the most valuable project

Of the civil engineering projects, the renovation of the section of Tihanyi Street between Mária Királyné Road and Erdősor Street represents the largest volume, with a value of 177.42 million forints.

During the works, the road surface will be resurfaced and various types of kerbs will be constructed. According to the technical specifications, the works include the removal of the existing asphalt surface and the cement-bound base course, as well as the construction of the road sub-base. The tasks include the construction of a protective layer made of sandy gravel, plant-mixed cement stabilisation, and the laying of various types of asphalt surfacing.

The tender specifies the construction of 802 metres of raised kerbs, 830 metres of recessed kerbs, 29 metres of garden kerbs and 78 metres of sloping kerbs. The works also include the excavation and removal of excess soil resulting from the cutting.

The official website of Csepel Local Council Facebook website reported on this project, stating that the renovation of Tihanyi Street entered a new phase during the first weekend of October. The section of road between Erdősor Street and Királyerdő Road was completed by 2 October, after which work will continue on the section between Királyerdő Road and Szentmiklósi Road.

According to an article available on csepel.hu, the aim of the renovation was not merely to resurface the street. Another important consideration was to make traffic safer and ensure that motorists drive more slowly where necessary.

Tihanyi Street, which runs between Akácfa Street and Erdősor Street, is classified as a residential street; therefore, the maximum speed limit on this section will be 30 km/h. As there are many pedestrians and cyclists in this area, measures have been put in place to physically encourage motorists to slow down. These include the traffic island and the raised junction.

The pavement and driveway in front of the school are also being refurbished

Both the refurbishment of the section of pavement before Kazinczy Ferenc Általános Iskola and the refurbishment of the associated access road involve the removal of the existing surfacing, the carrying out of the necessary earthworks and the construction of the new road structure.

According to the technical specifications, 104 metres of garden kerb will be installed along the pavement, whilst a 12-metre-long recessed kerb is planned for the driveway. The works also include the laying of an asphalt surface and the installation of a 5.4-metre-long plastic pipeline with a diameter of DN 160–250.

Traffic calming measures on Daru Road

The third contract relates to traffic calming measures on the section of Daru út between Szúnyog utca and Szárcsa utca.

The planned works include the removal of the existing asphalt surfacing and the cement-bound sub-base over a small area, the construction of a concrete sub-base, and the laying of eight square metres of 8-centimetre-thick paving stones. The scope of the work also includes the construction of 18.4 metres of recessed kerbs, as well as the installation of seven posts for mounting KRESZ signs and the installation of 31 KRESZ signs. The technical specifications also specify an additional sign.
