High-traffic service road to be renovated in the Eger industrial park
The HE-DO group is renovating Iparos Street in Eger, which is nearly 350 metres long and 6 metres wide. The project began on 3 April 2023, according to the construction company's website.
The HE-DO csoport won the public procurement tender launched by the Municipality of Eger on its own. According to Zoltán Vidó, head of the main construction department, the work will be carried out in two phases: the first phase will cover the road between km sections 0+110-0+345, the second phase will cover the road between km sections 0+000-0+110.
"In Phase I, we demolished the existing track structure, constructed the concrete paved trench and the double-sided recessed kerb, as well as installed the concrete base and laid an asphalt binding layer" - said Zoltán Vidó, listing the works carried out so far.
During the works, the sites can be accessed via a diversion route
Both phases will be carried out with a complete road closure, the sites affected by the closure can be approached from the Kistályai road during this period.
"In the remainder of Phase II, we will also demolish the existing track structure, build a double-sided sunken poor and lay an asphalt binder course. We will install the concrete base and construct the earth ditch and the receiving structure at the Eger stream", said the Chief Architect.
They will then continue with the asphalt paving of Phases I and II, followed by the paving of both sides of the road, and the installation of traffic engineering elements.
The renovation is of great importance, as Iparos Street is one of the busiest service roads in the Eger industrial park.
"The industrial sites have significant truck traffic both inbound and outbound, with additional truck traffic from the truck wash and truck service outbound on the street. The refurbishment will help the site operators, workers and of course the users of the site services to travel safely and comfortably", said Zoltán Vidó.
