Improving transport in Bátonyterenye continues in the cold winter

A significant series of projects is being implemented in Bátonyterenye and the surrounding area as part of the Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium investment. The contractors are Colas Út Zrt. and HE-DO. Construction continued on 8 January with the demolition of the bridge located between Zrínyi út, Erzsébet út and Piac utca in the inner area of Kisterenye. The demolition and reconstruction of the bridge over the Tarján stream can be carried out under a complete road closure.

The most important task for the closure was to construct the bypass section to a level that would allow it to be temporarily opened to traffic. Accordingly, in December 2023, thethe 2.3-kilometre-long, 2×1-lane bypass of Bátonyterenye (thus connecting Kisterenye and Nagybátony directly with three roundabouts) and the 2.19-kilometre-long, 2×1-lane north-south connecting road of the town in Nógrád County.

In addition to the bridge demolition, road works will also start from the second half of January on the crossing section of the main road 23, between the Hatvan-Salgótarján railway crossing and Vasút street. In January, water works will also be carried out on the bypass of road 23 and the construction of the Kisterenye-Bátonyterenye cycle path will be completed.
