Sustainability: one of the most important aspects
ESG as a key concept
ESG has become a key concept in recent years, alongside the green building passport and service booklet. ESG is a non-financial performance document that provides essential information on the environmental, social and governance aspects of an organisation or company. The ESG report provides a broad view of the environmental, social and governance impacts of organisations.
It can be guided by aspects such as energy and water use, biodiversity, greenhouse gas emissions or business ethics. Many people expect mandatory ESG reporting to provide transparency and an incentive to achieve sustainability and climate goals and to recognise that we are all responsible for protecting our environment.
Terrán is constantly striving for environmental sustainability in its operations and products. From seemingly small decisions such as going paperless, to the Group's use of natural gas only for the packaging phase of final products.
The Terrán also commits to replacing 48% of previous energy sources with renewable sources from this year onwards, with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.
Perhaps the biggest step Terrán has taken towards sustainability and, not surprisingly, towards raising awareness, was the creation of a solar roof system, which can meet electricity demand with clean energy. The Generon is unique in that the solar tiles provide both protection for the roof and harness solar energy. Domestic production has a smaller ecological footprint, the Hungarian Product Mark is a guarantee of quality and you can also strengthen the domestic economy by buying a product made in Hungary.
Already green in red
Launched in 2021, the Generon solar roof system has so far been available in black, which perfectly matches the darker shades of the Terrán tiles. For those who prefer tile roofs in classic colours, Terrán has created the red Generon, which is not only a new colour.
The Generon RED also features an enhanced coating that extends the product's lifespan.
The Generon RED with the red and brick red tiles of the Terrán creates a homogeneous surface, maintains a classic look and is a real green choice as it also generates energy overhead.
