Székesfehérvár's long-standing high school moves forward with a complete renovation

The municipality of Székesfehérvár is waiting for bids for the interior and exterior renovation of the Vasvári Pál High School in Székesfehérvár. According to the call for tenders published on TED, the building currently houses 20 classes and has a total useful floor area of 3945 square metres.

The predecessor of the institution was a Roman Catholic women's nursery in the 1850s, which moved to the current building in 1953 - the latter was built next to the railway station in the 1930s. It has been used as a grammar school since the 1960s, and recent photos on the web suggest that its renovation is timely.

The installation contour remains unchanged

The project, which is now waiting for a contractor, will see the following works in the three-storey school block

• complete renovation of the mechanical and electrical systems,
• partial, functional reallocation within the building,
• installation of a barrier-free lift,
• architectural renovation (surfaces, cladding, insulation, damp-proofing),
• functional conversion of the current gym wing,
• and the renovation of courtyard elements will also take place.

The building contours of the existing buildings remain unchanged: demolitions only occur as a consequence of functional alterations, which typically involve the demolition of partition walls.
