Erzsébetváros' completely reborn public park opened its doors

Budapest's new green space is now complete: Klauzál Square in Erzsébetváros has been completely renovated. As we previously reported, according to public procurement data, Everling Építő Kft. worked on the project, with a net value of approximately 592 million forints, and the investor was the local government of District VII.

The planning process, which began in 2020, involved the participation of the local population. The residents of Erzsébetváros were able to express their opinions at online and traditional public forums, by filling out questionnaires, and at various events. The final plans for Geum Műterem Kft. were finalised at the end of 2022, followed by the launch of the public procurement procedure in 2023 and the start of work by the contractor in early January 2024. In accordance with the plans, the playground, sports field and dog park were completed by the end of May 2024, and from then on, families, sports enthusiasts and dog owners were able to take possession of them.

A recreation park to meet all needs, with a significantly larger green area than before, a new, environmentally friendly and safe playground, a multifunctional sports field, a fitness park and a renewed dog run await the residents of Erzsébetváros and passers-by at Klauzál Square.

The aim of the renovation was to increase the proportion of green spaces and to provide a better environment for parents and children, sports enthusiasts and dog-walkers. At the same time, the square's historical heritage made it a place not only for recreation and relaxation, but also for commemoration.
