What is being built?

The new block of the Székesfehérvár hospital is ready, with state-of-the-art wards

Published

In January, the internal medicine block in Székesfehérvár, built by the consortium Fejér-B.Á.L. and Épkar, will be ready for occupation.

Szabolcs Cser, project manager of Fejér-B.Á.L. Zrt., helped us learn about the followed, the Fejér-B.Á.L. Zrt. and the Épkar Zrt. consortium.

The project leader, who has given several updates on the progress of the project, has now reported:

"The building is completely finished. All mechanical adjustments, operational tests have been completed, and the high-current equipment, emergency aggregators, low-current nurse call, access control and camera systems, as well as the IT communication systems are all operational."

All ready

The IT equipment has also been installed, and the sprinkler and fire alarm systems have been approved by the authorities. Bumpers and handrails have been installed on all floors and signage throughout the building, as well as the fine-piping of the building. The building occupancy permit became final on 10.12.2024.

The reconstruction and renovation of the connecting corridor has been fully completed, and the heated-cooled corridor will be open to visitors, patients and hospital staff from the beginning of December.

The street lighting and final painting of the parking lot is finished and the pavement in front of the administration building has been resurfaced with new paving stones.

To complete the splendour of the park, decorative lighting was installed, after the trees, shrubs and street furniture had been planted and the grass laid. The pavements and ramps around the new building were completed, and the final touch was the asphalt paving. Although there was some difficulty in dismantling the container city, removing it and packing up all the residues and transporting them to the sites while the hospital was still in operation, the Consortium managed to complete the task without disturbing the users of the complex.

Let the furniture come

The contractor, the F-E 2021 Consortium, has offered to help coordinate the delivery of furniture, equipment and supplies to the hospital.

"The two most important milestones, which all the participants of the project have been looking forward to, have recently been reached: the building and the external works received the occupancy permit from the building authorities on 4 December 2024; and the official handover of the project to the Client, the Hospital and the Contractor took place on 9 December 2024. This was also a much anticipated date for the hospital, as the final task of furnishing the new building with furniture could begin the following day.

The final handover of the building to the Hospital will take place in January 2025, after which patient care can start in the building.
