Semmelweis University modernises its pulmonary clinic
The renovation of Semmelweis University's buildings continues. Our portal regularly reports on these developments. Among other things, the Cardiovascular Clinic on Városmajor Street, constructed by Épkar Zrt., has reached the New Imaging Centre on Városmajor Street and the renovation of the aforementioned company's Merényi Clinical Centre.
Medical training conditions will also be upgraded with the improvements
We have previously reported on how the building of the International Pető Institute on Villányi Road is being transformed . We also reviewed the architectural solutions being used to create new teaching and dissection rooms at the Institute of Anatomy, Tissue and Developmental Institute Anatomy building. It is interesting to note that the Department of Anatomy is the only unit of the medical university that has maintained its legal continuity since its foundation in 1769. The EB Hungary Invest Kft. project will be implemented in the 9th district, in the block bordered by Thaly Kálmán – Tűzoltó – Viola – Balázs Béla utca in the 9th district, which will house a library, student centre, restaurant and community spaces, among other things. target="_blank" rel="noopener">educational building with a floor area of 24,500 m2, which will house a library, student centre, restaurant and community spaces, among other facilities.
The investment is aimed at safe and energy-efficient operation
According to the announcement published in the EU Public Procurement Bulletin (TED) announcement published in the EU Public Procurement Bulletin (TED), the contractor responsible for improving the energy efficiency of the Pulmonology Clinic operating at 25-29 Tömő Street, Semmelweis University, has been selected. The modernisation of the 10,465 m² facility will be carried out by Böjtös-Bau Kft.. The aim of the investment is to save energy and ensure the safe operation of the facility.
New ventilation systems ensure indoor comfort for patients
The main tasks of the contractor are diversified: in addition to earthworks and rock works, the company's professionals are also involved in the installation of prefabricated building elements, masonry, cladding and metal and lightweight building construction. A major part of the works will be the construction of the new state-of-the-art mechanical engineering for the clinic. The project includes the installation of a heating and cooling system with heat pump. High efficiency heat exchangers will also be installed during the renovation.
A key issue in a facility treating lung patients is the continuous provision of healthy and clean air. The clinic building is being upgraded with an energy-efficient heat recovery ventilation system.
In one of the wings, the technical specifications state that the required inflow will be 28 thousand m3/h. The project is financed by EU funds.
In addition to treating patients with respiratory tract and lung cancer, the Pulmonology Clinic also deals with patients with sleep problems and pulmonology care for organ transplant patients. Its professionals are also involved in scientific research and medical training.
