Workplace nursery and new roof to be built at Bethesda Hospital

In an open public procurement procedure, the Bethesda Children's Hospital of the Reformed Church in Hungary is seeking a contractor for its renovation and expansion, planned for a maximum of 36 months. Applications for the general construction work related to the replacement of the roof of the building at Hungária Körút 200/B, the construction of a new roof level and the creation of a workplace crèche in the basement can be submitted until 3 October.

The early childhood development institute moves to a new home

The ground floor and first floor will be used exclusively for Bethesda Children's Hospital services after minimal reconstruction, but after the roof is demolished, a new monolithic reinforced concrete coffered roof attic will house adult education and Bethesda Children's Hospital outpatient department offices, with the same roof contour as the existing one.

In addition, a workplace crèche will be created on the lower ground floor of the building for the children of the Bethesda Children's Hospital staff. The construction design documentation for the loft conversion of the Bethesda Early Childhood Intervention and Diagnostic Services Pedagogical Specialist Service (KIDSz) building and the construction of a workplace crèche is already available.

The usable area could increase by a third

The hospital needs to increase the internal floor space to cope with its increased responsibilities, so it would like to incorporate attic space into the currently unused loft space, as well as utilize the lower, basement level. The main volumes of the areas concerned are:

• 294,69 m² waterproofing a building against ground moisture or retrofitting waterproofing;
• 173,52 m² a social institution, crèche or kindergarten;
• 202 m² construction of a monolithic vb slab / coffin slab over the attic area;
• 202 m² for a roof deck with a complex pitched roof structure with a high roof pitch;
• 1238,3 m² conversion and expansion of the institution during its operation.
