What is being built?
The Post Office's new logistics centre for the capital's agglomeration has been handed over
The Waberer’s Group successfully completed its first build-to-own warehouse development project, carried out entirely under its own management, at the end of 2025, ahead of the originally planned deadline of the first quarter of 2026. As a result of the greenfield investment, a modern parcel logistics centre covering nearly 25,000 m² was completed for Magyar Posta, the company said in a recent press release.
The project is particularly significant for the company, as it is the first build-to-own investment in the property development business, developed with special technical features to meet customer requirements and for sales purposes, they emphasise, adding: the market-based development will serve as a reference for Waberer’s's future role in the Hungarian and Central and Eastern European logistics property market.
Full responsibility for development, from site selection to handover
Waberer’s managed the entire development and construction process within the scope of the contract: from the selection of the industrial site, through building permits and planning, to the comprehensive coordination of construction and final technical handover.
The investment was carried out on an 8.3-hectare industrial site, with a total area of nearly 25,000 m². The hall was built with infrastructure capable of accommodating the modern, automated parcel logistics machine with conveyor belts currently being installed by Magyar Posta.
„This assignment was a serious challenge for our team, given the special technical content and the tight deadline. But this is precisely where our strengths lie: we know exactly what makes a good logistics property and what technical content is needed to ensure that a warehouse can continue to serve logistics operations efficiently for 30–40 years,” said György Szucsány, property development director at Waberer’s, among others.
Waberer’s aims to win further similar projects in the Central and Eastern European region
Thanks to its successful projects, the property development business already has impressive references despite being in its early stages, the company emphasises in its announcement. The Waberer’s Group's goal is to win similar, customised warehouse development projects in the Central and Eastern European region, in addition to the Hungarian market, whether in lease or sale and purchase arrangements.
