Over the past few weeks, the renovation of the Miskolctapolca cave spa has progressed at a remarkable pace: the main concrete works in the spa hall and the cave passage have been completed, and the roof structure is now in place. The news was announced by the Mayor of Miskolc in a video posted on his Facebook page.

József Tóth-Szántai explained that work is already underway on tiling the bathing hall, and the modernisation of the shower facilities has also begun. He added that work is continuing steadily so that the Miskolctapolca cave baths can welcome guests once again „renewed, in modern surroundings, yet preserving its traditions”.

As we reported earlier, the project’s main contractor is DHJ Építő Kft., part of the Mento Group, which, amongst other things, special technology to deepen the cave passages belonging to the spa – for fire safety reasons.

A fire broke out at the Miskolctapolca Cave Bath on 6 September 2024; the fire completely destroyed the roof structure of the building, but no one was injured.
