One of the streets in Erzsébetváros, Pest, is becoming greener and more bicycle-friendly
According to a press release from the Erzsébetváros local government , development work on Dembinszky Street has been ongoing since December last year.
The primary aim of the investment is to reduce motor vehicle traffic by prioritising pedestrian and bicycle transport, while creating as much green space as possible.
The street near Városliget will receive a gross development of 793 million, for which the 7th district municipality has won a non-repayable grant in the TOP_PLUSZ „Healthy Streets” competition.
Details of the investment were also published on the local government's website. Among other things, the pavements, car parks and road surfaces will be renovated, and
- pedestrian crossings and cycle lanes will be created;
- barrier-free pavement surfaces are created;
- In addition to planting 36 trees, 453 square metres of green space will be created, complete with an irrigation system.;
- benches, chairs and waste bins will be installed;
- In addition, the light fixtures are being replaced with LED lamps.
