The purpose of their framework agreement is the renovation, conversion, maintenance and demolition of the buildings owned and managed by MÁV Zrt. and MÁV Pályaműködtetési Zrt., as well as the associated utility infrastructure. The task is to create buildings that meet modern requirements, using the technical and technological resources specified by MÁV Zrt. and ensuring high-quality design.

The function of the buildings is linked to railway operations; they are typically station passenger facilities, operational buildings, staff accommodation, warehouses and hall buildings, though there are also educational, cultural, medical, residential and other types of buildings amongst them. In some cases, this may involve the renovation and maintenance of buildings listed as historic monuments or under local protection, as well as the construction and renovation of roads, pavements and car parks associated with the buildings.

The call for proposals consists of three parts, with a total value of 23.4 billion forints. Of this, 5.5 billion forints net is allocated to Budapest, 14.9 billion forints net to Eastern Hungary, and 3 billion forints net to Western Hungary. MÁV has undertaken a drawdown commitment for the budget amount of 30%.
