Passengers are welcomed by refurbished stations in Balmazújváros, Berettyóújfalu and Demecser.

We have reported on several occasions reported on the MÁV national programme, which involves the refurbishment of stations. The next steps in this large-scale development programme, with a budget of around 15 billion, are outlined in MÁV Group’s social media page. According to this, in Balmazújváros, alongside the complete reconstruction of the façade and roof structure, particular attention was also paid to technology: modern passenger information and safety systems have been installed. The waiting room has been completely refurbished and, following the modernisation, now provides a comfortable environment in which to wait for trains, with air conditioning.

New P+R car parks and B+R cycle storage facilities are helping commuters.

In Berettyóújfalu, the building’s façade has been refurbished, and passengers can now enjoy a more spacious entrance hall, as well as a new, air-conditioned and heated waiting room and fully modernised, accessible toilets.

In Demecser, in addition to the external and internal refurbishment, a bicycle storage facility and an accessible car park have also been created. The paving around the building has been refurbished, and the surrounding area has been made accessible through the use of tactile paving and a ramp.
