Hungary sets all-time record for investment - focus on related real estate developments
Hungary will focus on showcasing the most significant industrial and logistics real estate developments in terms of foreign working capital inflows at the world's premier real estate development exhibition, MIPIM in Cannes from 12-15 March. Hungary's presence at the international exhibition is boosted by the fact that despite the economic difficulties, the value of foreign working capital coming to Hungary doubled last year, laying the foundations for economic growth in the coming years, Ingatlanfejlesztői Kerekasztal Egyesület (IFK) said in a press release.
MIPIM kicks off with a presentation by the Hungarian Ambassador in Paris
They also stressed that the positive perception of the domestic investment environment, the unbroken confidence and growing interest of foreign investors is also shown by the fact that the guest of honour of the Hungary stand, György Habsburg, Hungary's Ambassador to Paris, was invited to give the opening speech on "Growth in the Central and Eastern European region: trends, opportunities and innovations".
The stand promoting investments in Hungary and presenting development trends was jointly created by Nemzeti Befektetési Ügynökség (HIPA) and IFK.
István Joó, CEO of HIPA and Government Commissioner for Investment Promotion and the Implementation of Priority Large Investments in Hungary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said:"The success of the government's measures is proven by the fact that while FDI flows are decreasing worldwide, we are not experiencing a decline or even stagnation in Hungary, but rather a decline in the number of FDI inflows by 2022. The year 2023 will be another milestone in the history of Hungarian investment promotion, as the total value of the working capital investments covered by the positive decision exceeded 13 billion euros."
"From an international perspective, Hungary has become a meeting point between the West and the East, thanks to the large German car manufacturers and Asian battery suppliers. The fact that five of the ten largest battery companies in the world are already present in Hungary further reinforces this claim."
- he said.
This background is necessary for industrial development
Accordingly, the leading developers in the industrial real estate market - HelloParks (member of Futureal-csoport), Infogroup (developer of the IGPark network) and WING - as well as one of the leading office and residential developers, ckiemelt, will be participating with their flagship developments.
Emphasising climate protection in its announcement, HelloParks will be present with projects such as its logistics parks in Maglód, Alsónémedi, Fót and Páty – we have reported on these several times reported on several occasions, and the contractor Market Építő Zrt..
According to the owner of Infogroup Adám Szzékely, Infogroup is preparing a strong presentation to international investors: with its dynamically growing portfolio of 7 industrial parks - the IGPark network - Infogroup will be present at the exhibition as the leading industrial logistics developer in the Central-Eastern Hungarian region.
The logistical links of the capital airport are particularly important
Zsófia Korda, Business Development and Sales Director at WING, pointed out, reflecting on the Hungarian delegation's focus on logistics: the group's business unit responsible for industrial and logistics projects, WING Industrial, plays a leading role in the Hungarian industrial and logistics real estate development market. Currently, East Gate and East Gate PRO manage a total portfolio of more than 300,000 m² (as reported, both design of both); in the Login Business Park and Airport City projects (again both projects, we also wrote about the work of Weinberg works earlier). In addition, they have a further 370,000 m² of development potential in preparation.

They emphasised that premium, sustainable offices remain an excellent investment product, as exemplified by the sale of their RoseVille development in 2023 and the leasing of the first phase of BakerStreet, nearly 100%, which will become the headquarters of E.ON following its handover in the second quarter of 2024 (the latter's civil engineering works are being carried out by SWIETELSKY Magyarország Kft. completed.)
