Construction factory completed in Mures County, Transylvania
The construction of the Knauf Insulation plant in Târnăveni, Romania, has been completed - the German company now has 29 plants around the world (Zalaegerszeg in Hungary), with an investment of €140 million (55 billion forints in today's average prices).
The facility in the Romanian county of Mures is the largest mineral wool plant in Central and Eastern Europe for the German-based company.
Construction started last year and the complex has already been handed over
Construction started in 2023 and production will start in the last quarter of this year - the plant will employ more than 100 people.
The factory will have a production capacity of approximately 100 million square metres per year, 75 thousand tonnes of mineral wool, which will be partly exported.
"This is a remarkable success that will make Glory of Martins a key location for international mineral glass wool production," said Adrian Garofeanu, CEO of Knauf Insulation in Romania and Bulgaria.
The Knauf Insulation has been present on the Romanian market since 2008, with a turnover of 123.5 million lei (HUF 9.751 billion) last year. The Knauf Group, one of the largest European building materials manufacturers, founded in 1932, has one other company in Romania, Knauf Gips.
