ÉVOSZ has established an advocacy association in collaboration with several influential organisations in the industry.

The Construction Industry Roundtable, an informal cooperation forum for the Hungarian construction industry, has been established, Építési Vállalkozók Országos Szakszövetsége (ÉVOSZ) announced on Tuesday.

In addition to ÉVOSZ, the Hungarian Chamber of Architects (MÉK), the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK), the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers (MMK) and MAÚT Magyar Út- és Vasútügyi Társaság also participated in the initiative. The founders cover the construction industry, which accounts for 13 per cent of Hungary's GDP and employs nearly 600,000 people, they wrote.

Based on their intentions, the round table provides an opportunity to form unified opinions on strategic issues, represent and enforce professional interests, and formulate proposals for legislators and decision-makers. Participants make decisions on a consensus basis, with the participation of the presidents and representatives of the founding organisations.

According to the announcement, the technical support system for local governments is already in the preparatory stage, and proposals for building regulations governing third-country employment are being developed. On the initiative of ÉVOSZ, the Premium Magyar Építő material and Premium Regional Building Material certification marks have been introduced, which may play a role in economic development and social transformation, they added.
