The renovation of the station building in Veszprém is nearing completion
We have reported on the renovation of the railway station in Veszprém on several occasions. The station is being renovated in connection with the European Capital of Culture programme, with a budget of HUF 1.105 billion, partly financed by the national budget and HUF 355 million from the MÁV own resources earmarked for this purpose.
The works commenced in February 2023 and will be carried out in two phases. The first phase was completed in mid-July, and passengers can now use the renovated passenger areas and the ticket office operating in the refurbished passenger hall.
According to the latest information published on the MÁV Zrt. community page, the second phase of the investment is currently underway: painting the façade on the platform side, constructing the canopy, and designing and covering the barrier-free exit of the passenger hall and the platform surface.
On the western façade, the summer lounge is under construction. The underpass and the area have already been covered and paved. The benches and some other works are still to be completed before the autumn opening.
