This Nógrád County railway building is being renovated in its original, charming form

The Berkenye railway station on the Vác-Balassagyarmat line will be restored to its original form, according to the MÁV group Facebook post. The implementation, which is being carried out by Boltív-Bau Kft., has already made significant progress, with the Hungarian village programme providing the funding for this development, which has been awaited for decades.

During the project, the waiting room and the common areas of the building will be completely renewed to meet today's needs, said MÁV in a statement.

• a new heating system will be built;
• and the roof structure, façade and windows will be renewed;
• a state-of-the-art passenger toilet.

In addition, a paved walkway and new outdoor furniture will be installed next to the reception building.

The renovated building is expected to open to passengers in the spring.
