Rail logistics capacity to be expanded at Győr terminal

Construction work has begun on the DB Cargo Hungária terminal in Győr, according to the company's website Facebook page.

The development aims to expand and modernise the terminal infrastructure. As described, this is a key step to ensure long-term maintenance, transhipment and storage capacities for their main partner and the AUDI HUNGARIA located in the adjacent area.

Mérnök-Mátrix Zrt., BetonSped Kft. and SZI-GEO Kft. are involved in the construction works.

The project will implement:

• Construction of 120 metres of new track;
• construction of a maintenance shaft for locomotives and wagons;
• the creation of a modern maintenance area of nearly 1 000 m².

With the investment, DBCH will strengthen rail freight transport in Győr and the Győr-Moson-Sopron region, expand the maintenance facilities of the locomotive fleet, prepare for the increasing traffic of the Accumulator Logistics Centre and underline its commitment to sustainable and climate-conscious rail transport.

The task is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
