Production of promotional gifts in Kalocsa picks up - new plant set up

Founded 28 years ago, Anda's new 5,300 square metre unit includes a production area and a warehouse.

One of the leading players in the European promotional gift industry has expanded its capacity with a new production hall in Kalocsa. The Budapest-based promotional product manufacturer Anda Present Group has set up a new 5,300-square-metre facility comprising a factory, production area, warehouse and office space. The total value of the investment is HUF 2.5 billion, and the building was constructed by Merkbau Zrt.

Operating since 1995, ANDA Present Group specialises in branding corporate promotional gifts and creating unique gift items, and has become a major player in the industry. Their branding plant and warehouse in Kalocsa has now been expanded with new units.   • a 1,600 square metre plant and production area,
  • a 3,700 square metre logistics warehouse,
  • and a 500 square metre office area.

The investment was essential in order to enable the Kalocsa site to perform a complex logistics function.

At the inauguration ceremony of the new production hall, Minister of Finance Mihály Varga said that with the new plant, the company has created 100 new jobs in the region, significantly improving the chances of job seekers in the area.

Anda Present Group currently has sales offices in 6 European countries and sells most of its finished products in 50 countries worldwide, with exports accounting for 85% of its turnover.

The Finance Minister stressed that one of the Government's priorities is to reduce regional disparities, so it will direct development to where it is most needed. The unemployment rate in Bács-Kiskun county is currently 5.61TTP392T, which is much better than the pre-2010 level of 101TTP392T, but higher than the current national average, Mihály Varga said, adding that investments creating new jobs are key in such regions.

Mihály Varga also said that although the outlook for Europe is currently not favourable due to the prolonged war and sanctions, the Hungarian economy could return to growth in the second half of the year. The main indicators of the Hungarian economy are improving again despite external risks, and it is becoming more resilient to the effects of the war and sanctions.
