The former dilapidated building on Csörsz Street was renovated as part of the University of Physical Education's campus development.

The Buda Ambulance Station of the National Ambulance Service has become one of the largest and perhaps most beautiful ambulance stations in the country, with the renovation being coordinated with the expansion of the University of Teacher Education. The investment in Alkotás út in District XII was financed with HUF 2.5 billion from government funds.

The ambulance station previously operating on Csörsz Street was moved to the campus of the University of Physical Education in November 2022 because the university entered a new phase of development and the construction work also affected the environment of the paramedics" workstation. Just as the multipurpose hall of the University of Physical Education, the ambulance station building was also constructed by ZÁÉV Építőipari Zrt..

During the construction of the Koltai Jenő Sports Centre, the Buda ambulance station was upgraded to the highest standards, from the mechanical engineering to the rest areas and the garage, and the building was equipped with the latest technology. The ambulance station now covers an area of 1,800 square metres, double the previous size, and houses eight ambulance units.

Gábor Csató, Director General of the National Ambulance Service said at the inauguration ceremony that this is not just an ambulance station, everything is given here for the ambulances to recharge between two alarms, which means a short time, as Buda is one of the busiest ambulance stations in the capital, he said. He added that in the past twenty years, the staff of the Buda station have helped more than half a million people.

One of the largest and most modern ambulance stations in the country has been built, and it is a special pleasure that the reconstruction was carried out quickly and in a coordinated manner, and creative solutions were found - said Judit Bidló, Deputy State Secretary for the Professional Management of Health Care at the inauguration ceremony.

Lajos Mocsai, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for the University of Physical Education, said that the renovation has met all the needs to ensure that the rescue work can be carried out to the highest standard.
