Iconic buildings in the centre of the historic wine region to be renovated

The District Office, a listed building, can shine in its former glory in the centre of Tokaj. The tender for the renovation of the building's façade was won by the Pharos 95 Sportpályaépítő Kft. bid. The specialists of the selected contractor will carry out the following works on the 680 square metre surface of the main façade: cleaning the wall, removing damaged surface parts, repairing the plaster and finally painting the façade.

The roof will be renovated and the windows and doors will be replaced while preserving the character of the building

The project involves replacing the windows and doors. The contractor will also be responsible for the preservation and surface treatment of the existing profiles and hardware on the windows and doors. For the former, the windows will have to be fitted with modern triple glazing. The skirting boards will be demolished and replaced by frost-resistant bodrogkeresztur riolit tufa stone slabs. All the tin work will be replaced. The roof of the building will also be renewed with a new tiled roof and the attic slab will be insulated to meet modern requirements.

A new two-storey part of the building will be attached to the City Hall

The historic Town Hall building next to the office and the rear of the building will also be renovated. The street and north façade of the building, which houses the city administration, will be replastered on an area of almost 1,050 square metres after professional preparation of the surface.
The roof of the Town Hall will also undergo major works, including thermal insulation and new tile roofing. The windows and doors will be replaced. After the complete renovation of the marriage hall part, a new two-storey building with a gross floor area of 280 m2 will be built to complete the building. The new block will be connected to the existing corridors on the ground and first floors. The construction work is also to be carried out by Pharos 95 Sportpályaépítő Kft., as announced in the contract notice.
