M1 extension: fresh pictures of a bridge construction on the motorway

Over the past year, we have regularly reported on the various preparatory stages of the M1 motorway expansion, and on 1 September, the contractor MKIF Magyar Koncessziós Infrastruktúra Fejlesztő Zrt. also commenced work on the expansion of the main carriageway. On average, there are underpasses or overpasses every 1080 metres on the section to be widened, which means that over 78 kilometres, 72 of these overpasses will be encountered.

These bridges must be rebuilt or completely rebuilt to meet the new cross-sectional requirements, i.e. the 2×3+1 ITS lane width. Now MKIF on Facebook about the construction work on one of the bridgeheads posted pictures on Facebook, showing the formwork and concreting, among other things.
