Eight hundred million forints in non-refundable funding will be used to develop the Encs industrial park. The investment will expand basic infrastructure and logistics services to create an investor-friendly industrial environment.

The Encs industrial park is about to undergo a major development: a comprehensive infrastructure development programme will be implemented with the help of an eight hundred million HUF grant, which could give a new boost to the region's economy. The aim of the project is to offer investors a modern, easily accessible industrial area with a full range of infrastructure. According to the municipality, the development will play a key role in the economic growth of Encs, as a modern industrial environment can attract new companies to the area and create additional jobs for local residents.

Industrial or logistical functions may be added to the industrial park extension

The investment consists of four main elements. It will include the construction of two new industrial roads totalling 1,184 metres, more than two kilometres of new drinking water and fire water networks, and almost three kilometres of new sewage disposal systems. In addition, the project will include the provision of electricity and street lighting for new and existing roads, as well as road and building renovations.

The city is also upgrading an old building on brownfield land, which could be used for industrial or logistics purposes in the future.
In total, 15.57 ha of land will be developed directly, but indirectly the entire industrial park will be affected.

The development could be ready by March

One of the key elements of the development is the creation of a truck and car parking lot and the associated social building, with an investment of around HUF 120 million. The project will be implemented with EU and national funds, in a consortium between the Municipality of Encs and the Municipality of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County. The works are expected to be completed by the end of March 2026, and the expansion of the industrial park is expected to not only help new businesses to set up in the area, but also to strengthen the economic position of the region in the long term.
