The construction of the new section of the M4 is progressing well - gallery

We recently reported that the project launch press event for the section of the M4 motorway between Törökszentmiklós and Kisújszállás was held in June 2023. The Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium investment is being implemented by Duna Aszfalt Projekt Zrt..

The 34.29-kilometre-long road will be built on a new track for 17.5 kilometres between Törökszentmiklós and Kisújszállás, while 8.1 kilometres will be widened at the Törökszentmiklós bypass and 8.7 kilometres at the Kisújszállás bypass.

Miklós Nicoara, the chief architect of Duna Aszfalt told our newspaper: "the preparatory phases of the actual construction, bush clearance, logging, demining, restoration of archaeological excavations, construction of transport routes started in February 2023.

As of March, the above-mentioned works have continued, or have started and are ongoing, with the humification and earthworks, the construction of the test piles for the bridge structures, the construction of a vertical stripline to speed up consolidation, the replacement of the electrical utilities, water and sewerage lines, and the construction of the stormwater drainage system."

By 2020, it is planned to be completed:

• on the Törökszentmiklós bypass section up to the roadbed level of the two new traffic lanes;
• the entire section of the main line and the crossing high fills;
• piling of intermediate supports of structures;
• the construction of culverts crossing the trail;
• overhead line renewal works for railway crossings, and
• replacement of electricity, gas, water and waste water pipes.
